SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – (Feb. 25, 2009) – eSoles® Custom Footbeds, the world’s leading authority in the science and development of semi-custom and custom footbeds, today announced that ePro athlete Levi Leipheimer won first place in the 2009 Amgen® Tour of California road cycling race, which concluded on Sunday, February 21. This is the third consecutive Tour of California win for Leipheimer since he began wearing eSoles Custom Footbeds in 2006.
Also finishing strongly were eSoles ePros Dave Zabriskie, who finished second overall, and Jason McCartney, who took home the California Travel and Tourism Commission King of the Mountain Jersey as the top climber of the race.
“My eSoles provided me with a stable connection to my bike during the Tour of California,” remarked Jason McCartney. “The footbeds allowed me to put rock solid power to the pedals throughout all the tough climbs of the race. I believe that the footbed is the most important connection point on the bike. eSoles keep me aligned on my bike and are one of my most valuable tools."
“eSoles is pleased to have been able to assist Levi Leipheimer in his Tour of California wins over the past three years,” said Glen Hinshaw, CEO of eSoles. “His winning performances since he began wearing our footbeds are proof that the proper body alignment, increased comfort, and decreased fatigue that they provide translate into a real power boost in the highly competitive world of pro cycling.”
